It's Been a While

Uh, sorry for not updating everyone. It's been a hell of a month. I'll spare you the excuses and get down to business.

Well firstly! My birthday was on the 29th! Sixteen at long last. My friend Mandarin Panda did a wonderful job of decorating my locker and spoiling me with all kind of great gifts. (A t-shirt, hello kitty candy, instant noodles, bubbles and desert pocky.) It was really a great day!

To celebrate my surviving for 16 years, I used my persuasion powers to the fullest and convinced my mom to let me get a new piercing. Not that I needed her to sign, but I respect my mom enough to ask her permission for these sorts of things. I was originally going to get an industrial piercing, but at the last minute my mom decided she wasn't comfortable with it, much to my dismay. It was mostly the healing process that she was afraid of but I had done all the research and it didn't seem too bad to me. We settled on just a simple helix piercing and it looks really nice if I do say so myself.

The actually piercing process wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be. Just an inhale, sharp pain and exhale. The piercer was very nice too. Apparently the helix is a very painful piercing to get but it really wasn't that bad, but that's probably because I had a professional do it. Having professionals make new holes in your body is always the way to go, unless it's a simple lobe piercing, and even then it's better to get it done by someone who knows what they're doing. I pierced my second hole last November and had to deal with an infection before it healed properly. A lobe infection isn't that bad but if it had been another part of the body I could have had some major consequences to deal with.

I've always been highly fascinated with piercings and other forms of body art. While some think it's grotesque I think it's interesting and an alternative way to express yourself and change your look. I'll be making a blog post about piercing and how they coincide with alternate fashions in the near future.

Anyways stay lovely everyone!
